How to unlock

Track it, then collect 6 fragments

  1. Open the weapon menu and track this weapon. Tracking marks fragment drops for it as priority loot.
  2. Run missions and pick up 6 weapon fragments from boss kills, contract rewards, and chest loot. Every tracked-weapon fragment counts toward the same total.
  3. Once you have all six, the weapon unlocks for purchase or use across runs.

Required item: Item Boomerang Blueprint

Overview

How it plays

It flies out, bullies enemies for a while, then comes back. No ammo required, no reload required, no commitment required. The Boomerang is the most laid-back weapon in the game and it owns that completely. Base DPS is below average, but it never runs out, which covers a lot of sins.

StrategyThrow it when your primary is reloading. Lingering Throw at Lv30 keeps it active longer per arc. Chonky Throw at Lv40 doubles the hitbox for dense groups. Neither joker changes the formula: throw, collect, repeat. Consumer joker has zero drawback here, making it easy to splash elemental effects for free.

Strengths

  • Truly infinite ammo, no reserves to worry about
  • Consumer joker is completely free
  • Consistent gap-filler between primary fires

Weaknesses

  • Below average DPS. It's a backup, not a carry
  • Inconsistent against fast-moving targets

Comparison

Stat radar

Boomerang versus the top three secondary weapons. Each axis is scaled to the cohort max, so the bigger the polygon, the broader the kit.
