Overview

How it plays

A fire beam that scorches everything in its path for as long as it fires. Firebeam is the Pyro school's sustained-damage option - not a burst like Fireball but a prolonged channel that deals continuous damage across whatever you point it at. Against high-HP targets or tight groups, it tends to outperform single-hit spells.

StrategyHold it on a single high-priority target or sweep it slowly across a dense group. Firebeam reliably applies Burning to everything it touches, which makes it excellent prep for a Surcharge follow-up. In narrow corridors where enemies bunch together the beam can hit three or four targets simultaneously.

Strengths

  • Continuous damage output against stationary or slow targets

Weaknesses

  • Channeled - you can't dodge while firing
  • Mobile or erratic enemies make it harder to maintain the beam
